156; english rocks and promiscuous talks
Sunday, July 10, 2005
i totally forgot to mention. this past week, we have been doing something very fun in english. and its writing paragraphs emotionally angsty with one element; anger, happiness, et cetra. and it was super fun, cause it certainly beat all those boring lectures that we sometimes have for english lessons. though they arent really boring if your teacher is gavin ang!
he rocks really. so we were doing paragraphs on happiness, sadness and anger. we were supposed to do fear, but due to time shortage, we couldnt. and my paragraphs were all chose for each three. happy as i was, it sort of gave away something about my life.
i mean, i was able to write all those paragraphs because i am a very language person. its really obvious from this blog. lengthy posts, vocab words, grammar, language, et cetra. and i guess because of my family background, those feelings were easier to imagine. and also maybe because i am somewhat empathic and these feelings are easy to be experienced.
no, not showing off here. just speaking of the truth. and really, because of that, mr ang called me and said something about me being very emotional. and he couldnt really talk in depth because the class was jabbering at him to collect their paragraphs. and i was thankful for that. its rather painful really. to be talking about my family or anything to do with it for that matter.
but oh wells. something cant really remain secret for long. and i guess that i am just afraid that one day, everyone would know. but i guess thats inevitable also. cause things are bound to be known by all.
i shall now be talking about some promiscuous talks that have been going around. be forewarned, though, it contains acerbicity angst that i feel right now.
recently, there has been a lot of promiscuous talks going about, talking about teens. whilst i am unaware if others have known about it, i shall just share some of my views and not drag their words in here to prevent from imaging myself as a total bitch.
first off, some contenders in the media have in fact been slandering about how teenagers are more towards their own social circle and neglects family. and somehow, i am unlike others who just stands around, being neutral. i prefer to spit back at the aggresors.
now really, if teenagers were given that one more week extension for that freaking pointless project or some slightly more leniency in timeframe for revision of ten tests in one week, maybe we would have time to spend around with families. like, right now, i cant go out with my family to johor since i havent done my physics, humanities and also amaths.
and the world expects teenagers to be like so free as to go all the time with family with no other worries. oh come on. singapore is
ruled by academia, for everything. be it you want to be a sports person (who probably wouldnt be doing any trigonometry in his career, so why take amaths) to the scientist (who only needs science grades, why bother with humanities?).
ironically really, we are ruled by academia just to allow the country to get richer. diversified economy really, by emphasizing soooo much on the academics that they fail to realize that somehow, other elements are more important, like life skills.
its obvious really. how i sometimes have to spend just three hours, begging my friend not to cut his wrist. thats how suckish the whole study system has been to singaporean students. premiere schools produces masochists, cutters, sadists, people with eating disorders and students who wish themselves dead everyday. so much for a top school.
a top school's name is bought with blood of students really. quoted vic.
and really, it is also, again unfair that somehow, the chasm or vast differences that sometimes premiere schools are given more than those normal schools sometimes just isnt fair. how is it that somehow, students can like jump a crucial exam and just move on to one of the best institutions without ever having to sit for that major exam due to the fact that their school is like, premieres?
now, others have to fight upteenth times more harder than last time as more than 70 percent of the seats in most top institutions are all given away to premiere schools. good? yeah, right. its bloody bullshit if one thinks its good. cause its not really. how can it be good when the nation is denying capabilities of students in other schools? just because some schools arent the premieres doesnt mean we dont have capable students.
its seriously unfair. and no one bothers pointing this out to like the society at large. most probably because they dont want to interfere, much as though they know it.
oh wells. shant comment further.
PS. NEW NICKNAMES SHALL APPEAR SOON. LIKE STRAWBERRY, MUDPIE, DURIANHEAD, MEEHOON, ET CETRA.
