it's been a crazy week.
kudos to me, for getting the itch to blog again.
the days are really empty recently; things should change from monday.
working at shuqun, if everything works out fine.
today was really screwed.
yearned so much to say a proper goodbye to kp and sx, alas, intervention from parents.
had to go to my grandparents' instead, to only realise that i wasn't needed.
ran around singapore with pretty but mean shoes; earned myself three blisters.
no breakfast cause i woke up a little too late,
no lunch cause my friends had ate,
no dinner cause my mom didnt cook.
disappointment, pain, gastric, all lumped into one.
the past fortnight or so have been awesome.
the crazy shopping trips propelled by our urge to get something pretty for dinner and dance/graduation night.
the long conversations with friends we've neglected due to preparations for exams.
the laughter, the joy and the company.
oh, so totally priceless.
butt, xq, bel, aa, cep, p, dantan, you guys are amazing.
to danelle, the talk at subway was awesome and i don't feel daunted anymore. (:
technically, i'm supposed to meet m and hg for ben and jerry's later.
however, parents intervention (again) plus my sour mood puts those plans on hold.
apologies guys, i promise we'll hang out real soon.
went to kbox just now with bentan, yj, sx and kp.
highly interesting experience.
it's my first time there, so it took a while to get adjusted.
sang only one song - love story by sara bareilles, but hey, it took guts kay.
oooh, yesterday night, met with hg.
typical night walk, something we did since primary school.
except this time we met at midnight?
walked to 711 where i got myself a candybar and he got some tidbits.
sat down and talked about aims and aspirations.
we talked about singapore's future.
how singapore is heading for a path of disaster.
singapore oppresses local talent, giving opportunities to foreign talent.
claiming that foreign talent is cheaper and it's a way of forging better ties with countries like china.
however, these foreign talent come in, benefit from our system, and leave, to only contribute back in their homeland.
local talent, having no room to grow and contribute, leave for other countries who are highly welcoming of talented singaporeans.
brain drain, no?
also wondered embarrassedly whether i could ever work with axcan in france or with lonza in switzerland.
they're pharmaceutical companies, dealing with all sorts of drugs and chemicals.
i've always dreamt of working with such companies..
however, with a levels being so, unorthodox (for lack of a better word) i seriously wonder whether i'm supposed to put those dreams on hold.
it's pretty depressing, but honestly, i've no idea how i did.
hg also thinks that i should think things through really carefully.
think about religion, to be precise.
to paint a clearer picture, yesterday i lamented about how annoyed i was with how malays infuse culture into islam and confuse the two.
for example, they say the young are supposed to blindly respect the old, when the quran never stated such bullshit.
it does, however, mention it as a relationship.
exact line states: 'the young is to respect the old, while the old must sympathize with the young.'
(scoffs loudly)
since my parents don't sympathize like 99.99% of the time, i should yell myself hoarse at them.
sidetracked.
hg thinks that if it annoys me badly, i should just be an atheist.
however, i do believe in certain aspects of it, and i need time to accept the rest.
right now, the lack of distinction between culture and religion irks me.
god, what a disjointed post.
it's been a while since i've posted, so forgive me.
