today was terribly bad.
don't get me started.
apologies to xq and jazzy.

this morning at 12AM, i caught the live telecast of miss world 2008.
it was fun! :D
held at johannesberg ('burg'?), the contestants werent' exactly drop dead gorgeous.
mingda agreed; we were chatting online throughout the telecast.
out of all the finalists, i felt that russia's kseniya sukhinova and south africa (name forgotten) were pretty.
the rest were fine, not jaw-dropping gorgeous, but fine.
my favourite was russia, she's beautiful! :D
though mingda thinks she looks like a porn star.
sheesh.

i just checked singapore's candidate.
(clears throat significantly)

honestly, after the interview section, i didnt think that russia would win.
her answer was pretty simple.
i thought that south africa would win but she made a fatal mistake.
during a little talk backstage with the host, she went on about how confident she is and that she's all ready and is confident and repeated herself ten times over.
she wasn't even in the top three....
over confidence is an ugly ugly thing.

but hell.
congratulations russia!

nicole and i have been wondering whether it's a russian thing to have female names ending with the suffix -ova.
maria sharapova, anna kournikova, svetlana kuznetsova, natalie vodianova (model on my blog), kseniya sukhinova..

(pauses and checks the internet)

apparently, -ova refers to a female.
okaaaay.
still, it's interesting though.

god, i've yet to pack.
trip's tomorrow.
